Resources for those with autoimmune eye diseases and/or vision loss
Autoimmune conditions are an underrepresented and understudied cause of vision loss and blindness. With over 80 different autoimmune conditions, there is little data correlating all the potential impacts on your vision. A number of autoimmune diseases exist in which the eye or various parts of the eye may be attacked by the persons own white blood cells. The mainstay of treatment is therapy to suppress an overly aggressive immune system, which will likely increase the risk for infection.
